In this chapter, Arjuna asks Kr's'n'a about which yogiis who have the most knowledge about yoga, the ones who worship the imperishable unmanifest or the ones who are faithful to the personal form of Kr's'n'a. Kr's'n'a replies that the ones who worship him with faith are considered the most united, but the others also obtain him. He then explains that the path of meditation on the unmanifest is more difficult and troublesome than the path of worship of the personal form. This is a clear indication that it is easier and safer to attain yoga through worship of the personal form of Kr's'n'a than through meditation on the impersonal manifestation. Thereafter, K'r's'n'a gives some instruction about what Arjuna can do if he fails to think firmly of Kr's'n'a. In many editions of the Bhagavad-giitaa, there is a verse after verse 11. However, that verse contradicts the instructions in verses 8 through 11, and these instructions are generally considered the more valid ones. Therefore, that particular verse has been unnumbered, and marked in gray color, here to indicate that it is probably not an original verse. A translation is nevertheless given. Thereafter, Kr's'n'a describes the people who are dear to him, and at the end he explains that the ones who accept him as supreme are very dear to him. Someone can be dear to Kr's'n'a in many ways, but the one, who accepts him as supreme, is not only "dear" but "very dear" to him. This is an example of a personal relationship between Kr's'n'a and his devotees.
